Alghero Weather

The Island of Sardinia has the most sunshine hours of any region in Italy. Alghero in Sardinia is on north-western coast of Italy. It is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and has a temperate climate all year round. with long, hot and dry summers. During the summer months of June, July, August and September temperatures average at least 26°C / 79°F or 27°C / 81°F, often rising to more than 30°C / 86°F during the hottest part of the day.

The winter weather is usually extremely mild with average daytime temperatures staying above 12°C / 54°F although the evenings and nights are chilly at this time of the year with the arrival of easterly winds.

Alghero, with its location in the North West, is generally not as dry as the south. The months which receive the most rainfall are November and December. If you are planning on visiting Alghero in January the days can be pleasantly warm and dry, but the number of daylight hours can be a limiting factor.

Sardinia is beautiful place to visit during the spring when the countryside is in full bloom and autumn with its changing colours. For beach lovers the summer has very high temperatures and bathing in the sea is possible from the end of May and the end of September.
