Because of its latitude and height above sea level the winter in Cagliari is brief and mild with average temperatures around 12-13ºC. The weather is often so mild that spring seems to have come early. The waters are warm here and it is not unusual to swim in May or October.

In summer the average temperature is around 23-24ºC, but can reach over 35ºC during August. High humidity is one of the most notable characteristics of the Cagliari climate, but . luckily the summer heat and damp winter atmosphere are countered by an almost constant breeze, that can become quite a strong when the mistral wind blows.
