Flights to Sardinia

Flying to Sardinia has become really easy and convenient in the past couple of years with many direct flights now operating from major European countries. Charter flights tend to operate for shorter periods (generally from May to October). There are a number of low budget airlines that offer daily or weekly flights to Sardinia including Ryanair, Easyjet, Tuifly, and Thomsonfly.

The national airline Meridiana, Air One and budget operator Ryanair serve the island of Sardinia connecting it to the different airports in mainland Italy and the rest of Europe. Meridiana and Air One are the main airlines that serve Sardinia with daily flights from numerous cities around the peninsula.

Ryanair is to open bases at both Alghero and Cagliari Airports in 2009 and passenger traffic at Sardinia’s three main airports of Alghero, Cagliari and Olbia has almost doubled from just under three million in 1996 to over five and a half million in 2007.
