When you hire a car from Smeralda Express you will be asked to leave a deposit which includes the hiring costs, a full tank of petrol and non deductible penalties. As a deposit guarantee you will be asked to show your credit card (which must in the driver’s name) with the following cards accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club. In the case of pre-paid and rechargeable credit cards you will be asked to leave a deposit of €500.00 in cash together with the advance payment of the hiring costs.
To be eligible hire any vehicle you must be over 23 years old and have held a driving licence for over one year.
Smeralda Express Car Hire hand their vehicles over with a full tank of petrol. If the vehicle is returned without a full tank of petrol then you will be charged €16.00 Euros (including tax) plus the cost of the petrol shortfall.
For each named driver added to the rental agreement there is an extra charge of €5.00 per day (VAT included)..
If the rent a car is returned to a different Smeralda Express Car hire office than Olbia Airport there is an extra charge of €60.00.
