Sardinian Weather
Sardinia's climate is hot and dry in summer, comfortably warm in spring and autumn and mild in the winter. Sardinia averages 7 hours of sunshine each day in April, rising to 11 hours in July.
It is the perfect destination for a beach holiday or water sports holiday in the spring, summer and early autumn as the sea stays warm all year round. Even in the coldest months of January- March, the sea temperature does not fall below 13°C. From June to September it is 21-23°C and in July and August temperatures rise up 24°C. Winds like the Scirocco, Mistral and the Levant have made Sardinia a top destination for surfers, windsurfers and sailors.
The summer tends to vary in length, but as a guide it is possible to spend a pleasant day at the beach from April until October.

During the peak months of July and August the average temperature is 30°C which is good for a beach holiday but if you are golfing, hiking or cycling the spring, late summer or early autumn is a more comfortable better time to visit Sardinia.
The Sardinian winter weather can be unpredictable and is when most of the rain falls, tending to be much heavier in the mountains than on the coastal areas. But the winters are short and soon give way to warm and sunny springs.
